Francisco Amaral takes office in Castro Marim on the 11th

New municipal executive was elected in the Interim Elections last Sunday

Castro Marim's new municipal executive will take office on the 11th, at 11:00 am, at the Castro Marim Municipal Library, following the Interim Elections held on June 2, which returned the majority to the re-elected president., the social democrat Francisco Amaral.

In addition to Francisco Amaral, the executive is composed of Filomena Sintra and Victor Rosa, who were also elected by the PSD/CDS-PP coalition “Castro Marim + Humano”, and by PS councilors Célia Brito and Vítor Esteves.

Unlike what happened in 2017, this time Francisco Amaral will be sworn in as president of an executive where he has the majority. Moments after being elected, the Castro-Marinean mayor considered that the expressive victory, with about 60%, was a vote of confidence of the people» in his leadership, but also "a punishment for the opposition, which for a year and a half was only able to hinder".

The term for which this executive was elected on Sunday will only last for about two years, until the next Municipalities, which should take place in the fourth quarter of 2021.
