A recreational fisherman who lost his bearings at sea due to fog was rescued this Tuesday night, off Tavira, by the Maritime Authority.
The alert was given at 20:50, with the Captain of the Port and Local Commander of the Maritime Police of Tavira activated, «immediately, a semi-rigid vessel from the Life-Saving Station and a boat of the Maritime Police of Tavira».
Searches began at 21:30 pm, from Barra de Tavira. Fifteen minutes later, the vessel was found off Praia do Barril.
The boat was escorted to the port of Tavira, where it arrived safely at 23:00.
