The development of creative tourism destinations, offering genuine experiences that allow visitors to unleash their creative streak, will be highlighted in fam trip «Rediscovering the Secrets of the Algarve» in Loulé, scheduled for April 19 and aimed at tour operators, travel agents and journalists in the region.

For that day, “a journey of immersion in the local culture and direct contact with activities that have fallen into disuse and meanwhile recovered by the most extensive Algarve municipality, which embraces the Baixo Alentejo and the Atlantic Ocean” is promised.

The initiative will also revisit the tourist offer in the interior of the county, covering new municipal spaces, offering guided tours and inviting wine tourism, without forgetting a wine tasting.

«And more can't be said, because the program is a surprise for participants, challenged to experience new emotions on tours of the Algarve that is less spoken or known to visitors», stresses the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), which promotes the fam trip.

«At the end of thirteen editions, I can say that the familiarization visits to the other Algarve are a success and that I have received the highest praise from our institutional partners and professionals who help sell the destination», says the president of RTA.

Desidério Silva also stresses “the effort of the Algarve's municipalities, and in particular Loulé, in developing a sustainable creative tourism offer throughout the year, making the destination even more attractive and diversified, capable of surprising those who visit us” .

The project «Rediscovering the Secrets of the Algarve», which started in 2013, has been crossing all the municipalities in the region, from Alcoutim to São Brás de Alportel, Monchique and Lagos, through Lagoa, Aljezur, Tavira, Silves, Faro, Albufeira, Vila do Bispo e Castro Marim. Loulé is the next stage on this tour of the less touristic Algarve organized by RTA, in partnership with the Municipal Councils and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
