A New Year's solidarity concert, with the fado singer Raquel Peters and the Fundão Academy of Music and Dance Orchestra (AMDF), takes place on January 13, at 21 pm, at the São José de Ferreiras Parish Church, in Albufeira.

The funds from this concert revert to the requalification of rooms at Lar Residencial São Vicente.

Those interested in participating in this solidarity cause can purchase a ticket at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Albufeira, at the Albufeira Town Hall (CIAC), at the Lídia Jorge Municipal Library and at the Ferreiras Parish Office. Tickets have a value of 5 euros. Children up to 12 have free entry.

The fado singer Raquel Peters, who was born in Albufeira, will give voice to universal songs by composers such as José Luís Tinoco, Frei Hermano da Câmara, Pedro Abrunhosa or Joseph Muhr and Franz Xaver Gruber, including “Silent Night” which will be accompanied by the Orchestra Strings of AMDF.

AMDF is an artistic teaching school of Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Fundão. The orchestra will present some of the themes performed during the Christmas and New Year concert season that is still taking place in several churches and concert halls in the Castelo Branco district.

This initiative is organized by the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Albufeira and has the support of the Municipality of Albufeira, the Parish of S. José de Ferreiras and the Misericórdia of Fundão.
