The band “Átoa”, on the 15th, at 22:30 pm, and David Carreira, on the 16th, at 22 pm, are the headliners of the Youth Week of Tavira, to be held from the 00th to the 11th of September, in Praça da República .

“Átoa” are a Portuguese band formed by four elements (João, Guilherme, Rodrigo and Mário).

«The name comes from the fact that at the beginning of this formation the group was a little idle. The music and the band came naturally. Today, they have a common goal: “to make good music sung in Portuguese”. “Falar a Dois” and “Distance” are the best known themes of this young band», tells Câmara de Tavira.

«Átoa want the public to identify with their music and with each one of them, that they feel that they are part of those stories. They want to be able to continue composing for a long time and that somehow they can leave a mark on Portuguese music».

David Carreira is another name in contemporary Portuguese music to be present at the Youth Week. Son of Tony Carreira and younger brother of Mikael Carreira, David also followed in the footsteps of the family. He started his career as a model in 2008, followed by representation in the television series “Morangos com Açúcar”.

In 2011, he presents his debut album “Nº1” to the public, a mixture of pop, dance, hip hop and R&B. «Already, in 2013, “The Force is in Us” is the target of all the attention. Simultaneously, he released the first French single “Obrigado La Famille”», says the Tavirense municipality.

2015 was the year of the return to the Portuguese market with the work “Primeira Dama”. In the same year, David releases “3”, the new work of originals that reached the first place in the top of national sales.

Alongside these names, the Youth Week includes a program with dance, theater, sports, training, street entertainment and the usual Youth Fair, Qualification and Inclusion, which will take place between 15 and 17, at Jardins do Coreto and Palmeiras, Praça da República and Mercado da Ribeira.
