A meeting/demonstration against oil exploration is scheduled for this Sunday, August 7th, at 12:00 pm, at Praia do Amado, in Carrapateira (Aljezur), taking advantage of the arrival of surfer Garrett McNamara to that beach.
Among the protesters will be the bodyboarder Dora Gomes (former world champion in the sport) and other individuals. The organization will try to get Garrett McNamara to join the protest.
The objective will be to bring together as many people with boards at the water's edge in a manifesto against exploitation. We will photograph and film the action, for a future promotional video.
The reaction of people on the beaches, during the protest and information actions that have taken place, "has been great and there are many people already informed and sensitized", the organizers add.
