The Algarve has 17 nominees in the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards, considered the “Tourism Oscars”. Voting is online and takes place between August 5th and September 12th, with the winners being highlighted on September 16th, at a gala at the Convento de São Francisco, in Coimbra.
The Algarve has representatives in several areas: in the category of Best National Tourism Region, with RTA, in the category of Best 5-star Hotel, with Conrad Algarve (Almancil, Loulé), and Best 3-star Hotel, with Dom José Beach, from Quarteira.
To win the award for Best Resort Hotel, the Algarve has five nominees: the EPIC SANA Algarve Hotel (Albufeira), the Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort (lakes), the Monte Santo Resort (Carvoeiro, Lagoa), the Vila Vita Parc Resort & SPA (Alporchinhos, Lagoa) and the Martinhal Sagres Beach Family Resort Hotel (Sagres, Vila do Bispo).
In the category of Best Boutique Hotel, the region is represented by Vila Joya (Albufeira), Bela Vista Hotel & SPA (Praia da Rocha) and Vila Monte Farm House (Moncarapacho, Olhão).
The Salgados Palace (Praia dos Salgados, Albufeira) competes for Best Corporate Hotel.
In the category of Best Golf Course, the Algarve has four out of seven nominees: Monte Rei (Cacela, VRSA), Oceânico Old Course (Vilamoura), Onyria Palmares (Lagos) and San Lourenzo Golf Course (Quinta do Lago , Loulé).
Finally, the Algarve is also represented in the best DCM (Destination Management Company) category with the nomination of EC Travel, from Olhão.
