Carlos Andrade BenficaBenfica basketball player Carlos Andrade will be on Tuesday morning at Escola EB 2,3 Professor António Sousa Agostinho, in Almancil. The activity is part of the “Individualidades na Escola” project.

Throughout his career, winger Carlos Andrade, international basketball player for Portugal, represented, at national level, Clube Portugal Telecom, Clube Atlético de Queluz, FC Porto and Sport Lisboa e Benfica. At international level, he played at the University of Queens (United States), at Frankfurt Skyliners (Germany) and at Bruesa GBC (Spain).

While serving FC Porto, he won the Portuguese Basketball League (2003–04 and 2010–11), the Portuguese Basketball Cup (2003–04 and 2009–10) and the Portuguese Basketball Super Cup (2003–04). He also won the Portuguese Basketball League (2004–05), by CA Queluz.

With an eagle on his chest he won the following titles: Liga Portuguesa de Basketball (2012–13, 2013–14, 2014-15), Portuguese Basketball Cup (2013–14, 2014-2015), Portuguese Basketball Super Cup (2012, 2013) , Portuguese Basketball League Cup (2012–13, 2013–14) and António Pratas Trophy (2013, 2014).

The initiative “Individualidades na Escola” emerged within the scope of “Loulé European City of Sport 2015”, an initiative of the Municipality of Loulé (Division of Sports and Health), in collaboration with the Municipality's School Groups.

This project started in 2014, with 3 sessions, and in 2015 10 events will be held throughout the year. The project “Individualities at School” was designed, according to the municipality, “with a broad perspective, which does not exhaust itself in a calendar of actions but enables the consolidation of lasting ties that allow
potentiate synergies, promoting the creation of value within the municipality's school community from a perspective of social valuing of sport».

The main objectives of the project “pass through the promotion of sport, sporting citizenship, healthy habits and highlight the importance of the school/sport relationship in the present and future of children and adolescents”.
