The house that belonged to the late three-time Formula 1 world champion Ayrton Senna, in Quinta do Lago, is for sale for 9,5 to 10 million euros, according to the luxury real estate companies involved in the deal.
The property, with a total of nine rooms, 'traditional' style, was put on the market in 2011 only by top real estate companies, which are dedicated to more exclusive markets. In one of them, the one with the highest sale price (10 million), the property currently appears on the internet with the reference “Taken off market”.
In fact, as reported by "Correio da Manhã" on Saturday, citing the company responsible for housing administration, the mansion will have been sold in 2013 to a Brit. "He was surprised by the news that has come out, but he is happy with the house and has no plans to sell," said a source from real estate agency Jorge Apoio to CM.

The mansion, built on two lots with a total of more than 10 square meters, was purchased by Ayrton Senna in 1991, three years before his untimely death, for the sum of 100 contos, which would now correspond to 500 euros.
The main house, which has been recently redecorated, is 900 square meters on two floors, including six bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There is also a guest house, with a further three bedrooms. This guest house ends up working as a pool house, to support summer parties.
There is also a large family kitchen with a dining area, a lounge with different areas, a fireplace area surrounded by sofas, as well as other areas such as a games room.
Outside, in addition to extensive and well-kept gardens, the house has a tennis court with synthetic grass, also equipped with football goals, a putting green for practicing golf, a huge saltwater pool with cover and solar heating.
Ayrton Senna was Formula 1 world champion in 1988, 1990 and 1991. He lost his life in an accident, at the Italian Grand Prix, at the Imola circuit, on the fateful May 1, 1994.
His house in the Algarve was the only residence that the pilot (who also lived in England and Monaco) still had in Europe, due to his strong emotional connection with Portugal.
The villa is located on one of the main avenues of Quinta do Lago, which, shortly after the death of the Brazilian pilot, was given his name. The management of Planal SA, the company that owns and manages the resort, asked the Municipality of Loulé, on May 31, 1994, for the then Avenida do Lago to be renamed Avenida Ayrton Senna. The request was unanimously approved at a Council meeting on June 14, 1994.
