Events that will also have a solidary aspect as they will serve not only to celebrate the year of existence, but also to raise funds for the association.

On February 27th, the 1st SOS Oncological Solidarity Dinner will take place at the «O Chico Maria» restaurant, in Aldeia do Carrasco, in Portimão, at 20 pm and will feature animation by the band Fad'Nú, which brings together José Alegre on Portuguese guitar and Cátia Alhandra on voice, as well as a moment of poetry by Paulo Pires and Sónia Pereira. The celebrations continue on March 7, with the inauguration of the photography exhibition «Fastos SOS», at the Municipal Library of Lagoa. The exhibition is the result of a challenge launched by SOS Oncológico on social networks last October, to which 33 amateur and professional photographers joined, «who responded and kindly provided their photographs to the association».

The exhibition, which was supported by the dissemination of the Sul Informação, Gazeta de Lagoa and Olhares.com, in addition to FNAC, which financed the printing of all the photos, will be on display until April 24th.

The celebrations close on the same day, March 7th, with a recital of Portuguese Guitar, by João Cuña, at the Chapel of the Convento de São José, in Lagoa, scheduled for 21:30 pm. At the entrance, a donation will be requested from those who want to attend the show, in favor of SOS Oncológico.

SOS Oncológico is a non-profit association, with a regional scope (Algarve), headquartered in Lagoa, which aims to support, in particular, cancer patients and their families, in terms of information (about the evolution of the disease, patients' rights, tax benefits, etc.), technical assistance and, in the future, healthcare (at home or in an inpatient unit), which may also extend support to people with other disabling chronic diseases in need of Palliative Care.
