The Algarve Basketball Association's regional champions in the Men's and Women's Under 16 category won the National Cup in the category, despite both having played as visiting team.
Athletes from CB Quarteira “Tubarões”/La Cabane went to Lisbon to beat Maria Pia by 52-101, and the youngsters from Ginásio C. Olhanense won in the difficult trip to Seixal by 17 points (51-68).
Also in the men's sector and in the game between Algarve teams, CB Albufeira beat CBQ Tubarões by 60-54.
Portimonense and Farense also started their participation in the Women's Under 16 National Cup in the best possible way, achieving motivating victories for the next rounds – Basket Almada x Portimonense (58-62) / Farense x André Resende (72-42).
In the aftermath of the weekend of the national competitions of the Algarve teams, emphasis was also given to the double home victory of the women's Under 19 team by CB Albufeira, against André Resende (44-37) and Escola Alberta Menéres (58-37).
CB Albufeira also started in the best way their participation in the Men's Under 18 National Cup, tangentially beating Scalipus, by 47-45.
As for Portimonense, they got their first victory in the U19 Women's National Championship, having won the local club Almada, by 46-48.
On the other hand, the athletes of Under 14 from Portimão continue their triumphant journey on the way to the 2nd phase of the National Championship, having obtained a double victory in the games held in Chamusca (39-75) and Santarém (39-63), occupying at this time 2nd place.
Next Saturday, at 15 pm, they will face, in Portimão, the leader Basket de Queluz.
