The Spanish Antonio Ferreiro (Evil Vegeance Tour) reinforced today the leadership of the Portuguese Downhill Cup (DHI) Vodafone, thanks to the convincing victory he obtained in the third stage of the competition, the descent of the Padela, in Mujães, Viana do Castelo.

The Spanish rider completely dominated the Minho race, achieving the best record in the qualifying descent and in the final. Despite Antonio Ferreiro's superiority, the decisive heat was a stage of emotion until the end, with the best time being beaten successively by the last three competitors who entered the track.

João Góis (Penacova DH/UD Lorvanense) cut the finish line with the best record, with the clock ticking 2'31''924. But Góis' joy was short-lived, as Claudio Loureiro (Team Transition/Sram), the pilot who arrived shortly after, was 864 milliseconds faster.

However, the arrival of Antonio Ferreiro was missing, and the leader of the Cup did not have half measures, fulfilling the descent of the Padela in 2'25''427, removing 5''633 at the time of Loureiro.

The individual Vasco Bica was the best junior, having reached a reference time, 2'34''147, sixth record in the absolute general. In cadets he asserted himself Silas Grandy (MCF/XDream/Municipality of São Brás).

In the veterans categories, Padela saw the victory of the Spanish master 30 Rúben Castro, of the master 40 Rui Cruz (MCF/XDream/Municipality of São Brás) and master 50 José Salgueiro (Quadra/Avalanche/Vitória de Janes). Filipa Peres (BTT Valongo / Longusbike) was the best female.
