A Swedish tournament, in an initiative of the Alcoutim Volunteer Firefighters, which brought together about 30 teams, took place this Sunday in Alcoutim.
Swedish tournaments have grown all over the county and are gathering more and more participants. Playing cards is an ingrained habit, but tournaments bring something new – conviviality.
The mayor of Alcoutim Francisco Amaral emphasizes the importance of this type of tournament, which "contributes to exercising the mind and preventing the onset of Alzheimer's disease, which is increasingly frequent among the elderly."
