EMARP launches children's book “Let's Save Hydra”

Initiative took place within the scope of the World Water Day activity program

The Municipal Water and Waste Company of Portimão (EMARP) presented this Saturday, March 23rd, the book children’s “Let’s Save Hydra”, in a session aimed at employees’ children.

The initiative took place within the scope of the World Water Day activity program and took place at the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Municipal Library, in Portimão.

The narrative, inspired by the problem of water scarcity, was marked by the voices of children between 7 and 10 years old, who brought the five characters to life. The story, based on the mission to save “Hydra”, «highlights the importance of changing behaviors and consumption habits, without waste, adjusted to water availability, because only then, the character, who illustrates the natural resource essential to life , may continue to exist», explains EMARP in a note.

The presentation of the book will continue in schools in the city of Portimão, through reading sessions and offering the book to primary school children.

Among the initiatives that marked World Water Day, EMARP also highlights several environmental education sessions, aimed at the school community, and the carrying out of an action entitled “Invisible Waste”, in partnership with the Continente de Portimão Shopping Center.
