Lagos hosts 3st Algarve Breast Cancer Congress

The initiative will have in-person and online formats

The 3rd Algarve Breast Cancer Congress will take place on the 16th of February, at the Hotel Vila Galé, in Meia Praia (Lagos). 

In this initiative, the importance of a holistic approach in the management of breast cancer will be addressed, through the theme “Women and Integrative Health”.

The event will bring together breast cancer experts, doctors, researchers and integrative health professionals.

During the 3rd Algarve Breast Cancer Congress, there will be educational sessions and discussions on a variety of topics related to breast cancer, including new advances in conventional therapies, complementary and integrative therapies, the importance of nutrition, exercise and emotional well-being. .

Speakers will also share recent research and innovative discoveries about breast cancer, as has been the case since previous editions, and will discuss how the integrative approach can be used to help women at different stages of the disease.

The Organizing Committee is made up solely of physiotherapists: Tânia Camilo, CEO of Tecnifisio – Fisioterapia Especializada e Bem-estar, Jacqueline Tavares, coordinator of the oncology area of ​​Tecnifisio – Fisioterapia Especializada e Bem-estar, and Conceição Andrade, physiotherapist in the area of oncology at Saúde Estrutural Lisboa and collaborator at the Champalimaud Foundation.

The Scientific Committee is made up of professor Ana Paula Fontes, training consultant at the Hospital Particular do Algarve and professor at the University of Algarve, David Pinto, breast surgeon at the Champalimaud Foundation, Gabriela Valadas, director of the Breast Center at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve, and Catarina Ribeiro, oncologist and founder of the AIM Cancer Center.
