Batuta Festival returns to Sines with free classical music concerts

The Batuta Festival, dedicated to classical music, jazz and film music, returns to the city of Sines from this Wednesday, with concerts and parallel activities aimed at schools in the municipality.

The 3rd edition of the festival will run until Friday and the program includes five concerts of classical music, jazz and film music, with emphasis on the show by pianist and composer Mário Laginha (Wednesday), at the Arts Center de Sines (CAS), from 21:34 pm.

On Thursday, at 19pm, the Simantra Percussion Group takes to the CAS stage to play composers and arrangers from the 00st century and, at 21:30pm, the Pavilhão Multiusos de Sines hosts the concert by the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa, under the artistic direction of maestro Francisco Ferreira.

On the last day, the trio Pandora's Box, composed of Cindy Gonçalves (violin), Sandra Martins (cello) and Rui Filipe (piano), performs at CAS, starting at 19pm, and, at the end, the public can watch the concert of the Algarve Camerata String Orchestra, under the direction of maestro João Rocha, and singers FF and Sofia Escobar on vocals.

The festival, which is organized by Câmara de Sines and produced by ApreciArte, has free entry.
