O DiVaM (Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments) presents, in the Sagres Fortress, the Nova Escola de Sagres project, aimed at school audiences and families, and the contemporary circus show “Almaradentro por Outro Mundos”.
The program, from the Algarve Regional Directorate of Culture (DRCAlg), is shown on the 24th and 25th of October and the 31st of October and 1st of November.
The Nova Escola de Sagres project, promoted by the Centro Ciência Viva de Lagos, returns to Fortaleza de Sagres, on the 24th and 25th of October, from 10:00 am to 17:30 pm.
The New School of Sagres offers participants various activities, such as the construction of a 10 meter long modular caravel, programming and robotics workshops and exploration of collections that reveal the bio and geodiversity of various environments and ecosystems.
Furthermore, children will be invited to discover maps and navigation instruments, as well as reflect on this year's DiVaM theme, “(Un)comfortable Heritages”, where slavery and skin color will be addressed and rethought, this time using resources to artificial intelligence tools.
Later U.S On October 31st and November 1st, the Teatro Experimental de Lagos promotes the show “Almaradentro por Outro Mundos”. On the first day, the session is scheduled for 10 am, and is aimed at the public of the 00st cycle of education. The session on November 1st takes place at 1:15 pm and is open to families and the general public.
In the synopsis it can be read that “Almaradentro” questions the distance between the realities of the interior and the coast, the urban and the rural, the foreign and the home, what is outside and what exists inside.
The research reflects on the standardized vision of different identities and how to merge them, «in order to deconstruct what we understand as separate realities and open new perspectives on the region's fragmented identity, from a contemporary vision».
