Food full of talent Arrebita Portimão

Entrance is free and dishes are priced at 6,50 euros

Arrebita Portimão is back, for a 4th edition full of talent, incredible food, music, showcookings, a local Producers Market and much more. On the 16th and 17th of September, between 18pm and 00pm, the Algarve city center hosts a luxurious lineup, with the best chefs from across the country.

Entry is free and dishes are priced at 6,50 euros.

Over the two days, at Alameda/Praça da República, more than 20 top chefs will delight visitors, with unusual and appetizing signature creations, to be eaten by hand, without formalities.

And this year, in addition to eating unique original dishes, visitors will also learn recipes, techniques and tricks, live, from some of the guest chefs. It's the big news of this Arrebita Portimão, with a program of four sessions of showcookings per day on the Cepsa Stage, where the DJs who will liven up the party will also play.

The local Producers' Market is back, with honey, fresh produce, sweets, olive oil, handicrafts, brandy and liqueurs and wines from the region. But it brings a surprise…

The motto of this edition is new talent and creativity. And the Algarve has seen the growth of a new community of chefs full of determination, passion and daring, with new restaurants serving creative cuisine, based on local products and traditions, taking the region's gastronomy to another level.

«We have big names on the line-up, as always, but this Arrebita Portimão is also a tribute to these new and fearless protagonists of good eating in the region and across the country», says Amuse Bouche, which promotes this festival.

Saturday, September 16th, is the day of kick-off, with a program not to be missed. Marlene Vieira, one of the hosts of the MasterChef Portugal program, and leader of the restaurants Marlene and Zunzun Gastrobar (Lisbon), is one of the most relevant cooks of the moment, and Gil Fernandes, from Fortaleza do Guincho (Hotel Fortaleza do Guincho, Cascais), with A Michelin star, he is one of the most promising chefs of his generation.

They are joined by Diogo Martins, from Zest (Faro), Nuno Martins, from Numa (Portimão), Ruben Santos, from Casa do Gadanha (Alentejo), Hugo Guerra, from Lobo Mau (Lisbon), João Correia, from Rossio Gastrobar (Altis Avenida, Lisbon), the good-humored duo Joaquim Saraga Leal, Os Papagaios, & Hugo Brito, from Boi-Cavalo (Lisbon), João Sá, from Sála (Lisbon), Fábio Gomes and Leandro. Silva, from Praia da Arrifana (Arrifana), and Alex Horbenko, from Capsule Cafe (Ericeira).

The desserts are in charge of another duo from the Algarve: Lara Pinheiro, who works at Salt (Copenhagen), and Rute Rocha, from Lulii's Cake (Almancil).

On the Cepsa Stage, there will be showcooking completely free, with Gil Fernandes, Marlene Viera, João Sá and Fábio Gomes, who will share some of the secrets of their kitchen: an unexpected gift for kitchen lovers, foodies and aspiring chefs.

The party continues on Sunday, September 17th, with more big names and mind-blowing food. And on that day the stars of the region shine: José Lopes, from Bom Bom, in Sesmarias (Lagoa), with a Michelin star, and Luís Brito, from A Ver Tavira, also with a Michelin star.

And Leonel Pereira, from Check In (Faro), Rui Rebelo, from Terraço Editorial (Lisbon), Alana Mostachio (Lisbon), Ilária Rossi, from Fermento Food & Wine (Sagres), Emidio Freire, from Faina (Portimão), João Marreiros, from Loki ( Portimão), Francesco Ogliári, from Tua Madre (Évora), Hugo Guerra, from Lobo Mau (Lisbon) and David Jesus, from Seiva (Liça da Palmeira).

On the Cepsa Stage, on Sunday, there will be chefs Rui Rebelo, Leonel Pereira, João Marreiros and Hugo Guerra, each of them with a different style, vision and approaches to cooking: unmissable.

Everything else is music, an incredible atmosphere, and tables full of friends, food and unforgettable stories.
