Castro Marim experienced a very international weekend with the Caracol Festival

The event intends to affirm the border town of Castro Marim as a destination for the best snails in the Algarve

The International Snail Festival said goodbye to Revelim de Santo António, in Castro Marim. For three days, from the 21st to the 23rd of July, the event animated the village of Raiana, in another edition full of music, animation and, of course, the best aromas and flavors of the famous snack.

This was a year of consolidation, with the intention, in the 2024 edition, to have a strong external representation, not only in musicality, but also in the variety of confection. A big highlight, this year, was the presence of the various associations and clubs that operate the taverns of the event and that every year make an effort to present the best snail recipes, among other delicacies, to the public.

The king of the party was joined by an entertainment program with music, theater and even children's workshops. During the three days of festivities, “Pardais à Solta” provided street entertainment for Revelim.

“Los Romeros”, “Tiago Silva”, “Fado Tropical”, “Amar Guitarra”, “Pedro Mestre” and also the Theater Group of the Center for Culture and Sports of Workers of the Municipality of Castro Marim, with the play “Festival Art`rite”.

In addition to being a great stimulus for local trade, the International Snail Festival aims to affirm the border town of Castro Marim as a destination for the best snails in the Algarve and to enhance traditional products, cuisine and Mediterranean culture.

The International Snail Festival was organized by the Municipality of Castro Marim, with the collaboration of many associations and clubs in the municipality.
