The documentary «IN MEDIAS RES- In the middle of things», about the thought and work of the architect Manuel Tainha, by Luciana Fina, will be shown on the 24th of May, at 18 pm, in the Auditorium of the Portimão Museum.
The exhibition is promoted by the Algarve Regional Section of the Order of Architects and has free admission.
«With Manuel Tainha, I found a vision of Architecture built through the permanent questioning of its practice, its ethics and poetics, an “architecture in question”. The practice of the craft was accompanied by the resistant exercise of thought, writing and teaching, spanning six decades of Portugal's history, from the mid-XNUMXth century to the new millennium», explains director Luciana Fina.
«IN MEDIAS RES was not born with the intention of carrying out a catalog raisonné the extensive work of Manuel Tainha, or a documentary of observation of the “architect at work”. The film is the result of a meeting, of long and inspiring conversations recorded between 2010 and 2012, of the search for a cinematic correspondence with the words and thoughts of the architect, a dialogue with his ethics and poetics, and with the essential restlessness of never believe in the world or in knowledge as final and closed products», he adds.
