Gambelas Campus hosts event “Greening Our Future: towards a more sustainable horizon”

Many activities planned throughout the day

The event “Greening Our Future: towards a more sustainable horizon”, a knowledge-sharing meeting to promote the transition of the European Union towards a greener and more sustainable future, will take place on the 6th of June, at the Gambelas Campus, promoted by the University of Algarve, together with partners, the LIXARTE community – Transforming garbage into Art, the Vita Nativa association and the ProOcean project.

The initiative, registered in the EU Green Week 2023 (europa.eu) and developed within the scope of the Sustainable Horizons project, is coordinated by Alexandra Teodósio, vice-rector of the UAlg, and aims to be an informal forum and mobilize everyone to act more broadly and to take more sustainable measures based on scientific knowledge.

European Green Week disseminates the messages of the EU Green Deal and the European Climate Pact and the call to action to save the ocean and the planet. It is urgent to #Fazeranossaparticipate in the UN's 2030 Agenda, in meeting the goals of each of the Sustainable Development Goals.

«So the themes will range from citizen science to art, with discussion panels, practical sessions, presentation of scientific projects and exhibition of Sustainable Art», explain the promoters.

The event will take place on the 6th of June between 9:30 am and 17:0 pm, outdoors at the Gambelas Campus.

Registration, free but mandatory, must be done by clicking here.
