The list led by Antonieta Guerreiro and under the slogan “Together Let's Make It Happen” won the GRATO – Drug Addicts Support Group elections, with 33 votes (the 11 on the list, plus 22), in a universe of 52 voters, with the list contestant obtained 19 votes (11 from the list, plus 8).
For the first time in GRATO's history, there were two lists, and, also for the first time in its history, 44% of the elected members are collaborators.
«More than a personal victory for me, this is the victory of employees who want to do more and always better. It is the victory of employees who always put GRATO ahead of their personal interests and what is not always more convenient for them, and often even with family and financial damage, but even so, GRATO is always in first place», he said Antonieta Guerreiro, in a message sent to employees.
«It is also the victory of the support group for the families of our users, who have been looking forward to their meetings at our institution for a long time. It is a victory for those who founded GRATO to help others take steps towards regaining control of their lives, this is also a moment of gratitude for these friends. It is a day of victory for former employees, like me, who, having watched GRATO unfold from a distance, is an important moment. then. being part of social bodies. we can now contribute in an active, interventional and decisive way to the destinations of GRATO and in this way support our co-workers», he added.
In the program that she presented to the partners, Antonieta Guerreiro and her team propose to «retake the guiding line that gave rise to the foundation of GRATO», for which they are looking for volunteers to support the institution in the daily distribution of prepared foods».
The new president also calls for attracting new members.
In his swearing-in speech, he reiterated that, in GRATO, «everyone is important, everyone gives and everyone receives – each in the proportion and measure they need – because the doors of GRATO are open to everyone».
