Portimonense lost 1-0 to FC Porto, in a match for the 26th round of the I Liga, played this Sunday, April 2, at Estádio do Dragão.

In a game that was going to be difficult, it was even the Algarve who created the first sign of danger.

In the 2nd minute, Seck took a free-kick, but Filipe Relvas, at close range, was unable to deflect it into the back of the net.

The blue and whites then took control of the match for several minutes, until they reached the goal, at 30'.

Wendell crossed from the left and Fábio Cardoso, without an appointment, just had to head the goal, in a move in which the Portimonense defense did not look good in the picture.

Despite the advantage achieved, FC Porto was unable to keep Portimonense leaning against the defence. Incidentally, the Algarve, who were watching the counterattack, could have tied in the 31st minute.

Cláudio Ramos missed the goal, but Wellinton, after feinting the goalkeeper, shot at the side netting.

In the second half, Portimonense started well again, but it was FC Porto who created the greatest danger.

In the 57th minute, Galeno scored, but the move soon raised many protests from the Portimonense players, due to an alleged foul, at the beginning of the move, by Toni Martinez on Diaby.

The referee went to see the VAR images and ended up disallowing the goal.

Portimonense continued to try to peek at the tie, but without great chances to score. At 71', Lucas Ventura was sent off for accumulating yellow cards and the team from the Algarve were reduced to 10 until the end.

What is certain is that the result always seemed to be open, despite having confirmed the defeat of Portimonense.

With this defeat – the fifth consecutive – Paulo Sérgio's team has the same 26 points and is in 14th place, seven points above the relegation play-off place.
