The Folar Fair takes place from the 7th to the 9th of April, in São Marcos da Serra (Silves).
«In the year that marks the 25th anniversary of the event, special focus is given to cultural entertainment, whose commitment is based on the diversity of artists and collectivities, keeping alive the uses and customs of the people of the mountains and the Algarve’s barrocal», says the Chamber from Silves.
The program includes concerts, religious celebrations, choral groups, folk groups, dances and street entertainment.
Dedicated to celebrating Folar in its most different forms and flavors, «the event brings together several traditional producers, who do not only make Folar, but a huge variety of typical products, ranging from sweets, to liqueurs and medronho, as well as a number of other productions».
Organized by the Municipality of Silves, the event has the usual support of the Parish Council of São Marcos da Serra, Caixa de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo Terras do Arade and the Algarve Tourism Board.
