The PSD delivered a question addressed to the Minister of Culture to the Assembly of the Republic on the system of incentives for local and regional media.
At issue is the order that determines the total amount of State support for the regional and local media to be awarded in the year 2022, which has not yet been published.
«The period for submitting applications to the State Incentive Regime for Regional and Local Media, within the scope of the 2022 Contest, ended on April 15, 2022, however, until today, the Dispatch that determines the amount total State support for the regional and local media to be awarded in 2022 has not yet been published», says the Social Democratic Party, classifying the Government's attitude as «inexplicable and unjustifiable».
The party recalls that failure to comply with Article 14 of Decree-Law No 23/2015 of February 6, «greatly harms the regular functioning of the media to be covered by this support, since they are forced to wait several months for the respective financing, which generates uncertainty, increased costs and, above all, affects budget planning for the following year»
Members of the PSD parliamentary group also question the Government about when the candidacy period for 2023 will open.
