212 kilos of fruit seized for illegal street sales in Quarteira

Three men and one woman were identified, aged between 23 and 43 years old.

The GNR seized 212 kilos of fruit and identified three men and one woman, aged between 23 and 43 years, due to lack of street sales licensing, in the city of Quarteira, this Wednesday, February 1st. 

The seizure and identification took place during an operation to monitor and combat street sales in fruit and clothing markets.

During this police operation, four fines worth 150 euros were imposed.

The facts were forwarded to the Municipality of Loulé.

The seized goods were verified by the Directorate General for Food and Veterinary Medicine in the Algarve and, after certifying that they were fit for consumption, they were handed over to the Social Commission of the Parish of Quarteira, which distributed the food to charitable institutions operating in the city and which support several needy families on a daily basis.
