The exhibition “Awakening Esparto”, promoted by Cooperativa QRER and the Municipality of Loulé, will open this Friday, January 13, at 17 pm, at Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé.

«The focus is on reaffirming this technique, whose meaning is rooted in the cultural history of the Algarve, and in need of urgent safeguarding, as well as awakening interest in Esparto through a new generation of artisans», explains QRER.

This collective and itinerant exhibition follows the Master-Apprentice Knowledge Transmission Course – Esparto (2021) and the Creative Residency in Traditional Arts: Esparto (2022), organized within the scope of the activities of QRIAR – Incubadora Criativa do Algarve, integrated in the Magalhães Center for Entrepreneurship in Cultural and Creative Industries, benefiting from co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the INTERREG VA España-Portugal program (POCTEP) 2014-2020 and the Municipality of Loulé.

The exhibition will be open until the 17th of February and can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 00 pm and from 13 pm to 00 pm, and on Saturdays from 14 am to 00 pm.
