The Castro Marim Christmas Party returned this year and brought together 600 elderly people for a social lunch.
The Senior Christmas Party is an initiative promoted by the City Council within the scope of social policies. Political representatives of the four parishes of the municipality, of all IPSS's and of the religious community, as well as of the municipal council and assembly were also present at the meeting.
After lunch, there was a dance, which lasted until the end of the day, with Duo Reflexo and Luís Guilherme.
With this Christmas Party, the municipality wanted to give the elderly, «who have contributed a lot to the construction of a more evolved and supportive municipality, an afternoon of homage, conviviality and sharing of the values of friendship and fraternity of a very significant part of the castromarinese population».
