All groups in the municipality of Olhão were awarded the Seal Escola MILAGE Aprendir+ 2021/22, which is distinguishing, at national level, schools that have demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting innovative learning environments using this application.
The implementation of this tool in educational establishments in Olhão has a municipal investment of 43 thousand euros in three years.
Developed by the University of Algarve, the application for mobile devices allows students to access educational content, inside and outside the classroom.
With the aim of stimulating and supporting the implementation of the various proposed activities, the interface of the MILAGE Aprendiz+ app incorporates gamification features, with different levels of exercise difficulty, to support students with greater math learning difficulties and also include more advanced students.
In addition, the application includes a self-assessment and peer-assessment scheme, which aims to «stimulate the student's autonomous work, revisiting contents for storing knowledge in long-term memory and identifying key steps in solving exercises », injures the City Council of Portimão.
The app is free and available for Android and iOS.
