Arte Bianca and La Dolce Vita integrate Italian Cuisine Week

Aljezur and Portimão are on the list of 21 restaurants in Portugal where this week will be

The restaurant White art, in Aljezur, and La Dolce Vita, in Portimão, are part of the list of more than two dozen Portuguese restaurants where the Week of Kitchen Italiana will pass, between 14 and 20 November.  

This initiative, promoted by the Italian Embassy in Lisbon, returns for its seventh edition with the aim of «promoting the excellence of Italian cuisine and its territories», this year with the theme “Coexistence, Sustainability and Innovation: the ingredients of the kitchen Italy for the health of people and the protection of the planet”.

The program includes several activities, and will go through restaurants from North to South, where specific menus or dishes will be created to be tasted exclusively during the event.

In addition to the two Algarve restaurants, the Semana da Kitchen Italian goes through Braga (La Piola), Matosinhos (Il Ristorantino), Porto (Muti), Castelo Branco (Arena di Verona) or Lisbon, with several options of locations.

The choice was made on the basis of conditions such as a qualified chef and at least one employee who speaks the language Italian company, a menu with more than 50 percent of dishes Italians and a number of wines Italians PDO or PGI greater than 30 percent of the entire wine list, or use PDO/IGP extra virgin olive oil Italian taste in the preparation of dishes.

The first activity of the week of Kitchen Italian in the World takes place next Monday, the 14th, at 18:00, at the restaurant Italian taste Libertà Kitchen. During the event, which will be opened by the Italian ambassador to Portugal, Carlo Formosa, there will be a wine tasting aimed at Portuguese importers and operators in the sector. The event will also mark the launch of an initiative whose main objective is to promote the oenological tradition Italian company through knowledge and training: a Young Sommeliers Competition, whose prize will be an enology course with an internship in Italy.

 

 

On Wednesday, the 16th, at 16:00, the Week of Kitchen Italian in the World suggests a moment of reflection, with the webinar “A kitchen Italian company between tradition and innovation. The ingredients and typical dishes of the gastronomic tradition Italian company: sustainability and health of people and the planet”, aimed at institutions, associations and local operators in the sector, but also at the general public.

Experts Italians in the area, including Stefano Sforza, professor of Food Science and Pharmaceuticals at the University of Parma, Andrea Ghiselli, director of the research center CREA – Food and Nutrition, and Cesare Varallo, a lawyer specializing in food law, will discuss trends sustainable food consumption, the latest developments in the European debate on nutrition and front-of-pack labeling.
