Albufeira presents painting and photography exhibitions in December

That extend into next year

From painting to photography, the month of December is full of cultural proposals in Albufeira.

Until the 7th of January, the João Bailote Municipal Gallery is hosting the painting exhibition “Eu Existo, Tu Existes, Nós Coexistimos”, by Bruno Ceriz, an artist from Albufeira. The Gallery is open from Monday to Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:30 pm.

The exhibition “Scriptorium Medieval” is taking place at the Municipal Archive of Albufeira, open to the public until the 11th of December. The exhibition promises a trip to the Middle Ages, with the exhibition of what would be a scriptorium, a workshop where copyist monks worked, trying to represent a center for copying manuscripts.

Visits to the exhibition are carried out by booking in advance to the email [email protected] or by telephone 289 599 638.

The Cultural Extension Room of the Historical Archive of Albufeira, which hosts this exhibition, is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 13:30 pm to 17:00 pm.

The highlight of the month goes to the photographic exhibition by João António Fazenda, with the exhibition “Time Lapses – No Algarve parar o Tempo”, running until February 25 at the Municipal Museum of Archaeology.

It is an exhibition with «cultural references, in the field of visual arts, not only in photography itself, but also in painting and literature». Those interested can visit the artist's work from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:30 am to 17:30 pm.

From the 5th to the 12th of December, there will also be an exhibition “Dreaming the future”, by the collective authorship of the users of the Temporary Emergency Shelter Accommodation Centre, in the Exhibition Room – Beach Support, in Olhos de Água.

Until the 10th of July of the next year, it remains on display at Esplanada Dr. Frutuoso da Silva, the photographic exhibition by Artur Pastor “A Different Algarve”.
