The Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve (CHUA) will organize on the 6th and 7th of December the second Rehabilitation Nursing Days, this year with the motto «reflecting reality».
«In these days, it is intended that nurses specializing in Rehabilitation Nursing reflect, together, the reality of the needs of their users and the practices of Rehabilitation Nursing, in the sense of empowerment, autonomy and empowerment of the person in their different life contexts. », explains the organization.
These days follow the first edition held in 2021, to date on the topic Transversality, and aim to «show the differentiated intervention and commitment that nurses specializing in Rehabilitation Nursing assume at CHUA in the process of re-adaptation of the person throughout of the life cycle, with an impact on participation in society and people's dignity», the hospital unit continues in a note.
The program includes several guest speakers to talk about some of the main issues identified by these nurses in the exercise of their clinical practice, such as «Aging», «Major surgery», «Literacy», «Empowerment», «Autonomy», «Person in critical situation” and “Transition of care and sustainability”, among others.
«This approach will, therefore, promote a reflection on knowledge, skills, abilities and current challenges, given today's reality, with a view to, in the future, the decision-making of Specialist Nurses in Rehabilitation Nursing. increasingly solid, structured and supported by scientific evidence», explains the organizing committee.
The program also includes a more practical aspect and the sharing of projects under development by the municipalities, but also at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve, such as the Support Products Nucleus, among others, to be disseminated through Free Oral Communications, arising from submissions of summaries by nurses enrolled in the journeys.
