Algarvian Celina Carpinteiro wins XCM Portuguese Cup

In the overall ranking in the elite category

Celina Carpinteiro (BTT Loulé/Elevis) won in the general classification in the elite category the Portuguese BTT Marathon Cup (XCM), held in Vila Nova de Paiva.

The elite women's peloton faced a route of 72 kilometers, with the Algarve being the strongest in this Sunday's marathon, completing the course in 4h11m11s. Flávia Lopes (Vasconha BTT/Vouzela) was the most direct opponent, spending more than 2m15s. Ana Tomás (BTT Seia) was third, in 8m09s.

The 92 kilometers covered by the male elite were the stage for the superiority of the national champion and former world and European champion, Tiago Ferreira (DMT Racing Team). Viseense won alone, with 3h52m47s of race. The runner-up, Carlos Cruz (Saertex Portugal/Edaetech), spent another 1m53s.

 

Davide Machado closed the podium of the day, 3m17s from Tiago Ferreira. The podium in the last scoring event for the general classification guaranteed the BTT Seia rider to win the Portuguese Cup in the elite category.

 

 

Among the men's veterans, the Portuguese Cup was won by master 30 José Oliveira (MonçãoBike/LusoPrint/Bombos S. Sebastião), master 35 Ismael Graça (Korpo Activo/Penacova), master 40 Francisco Fernandes (CTM Vila Pouca/CEPSA /Casa Lima Chaves), by master 45 Hugo Velho (Vasconha BTT Vouzela), by master 50 António Marques (BTT Seia), by master 55 Reinaldo Luís (Róódinhas/Master Vantagem), by master 60 Adelino Cruz (BTT Loulé/Elevis) and by master 65 Manuel Pinto (Saertex Portugal/Edaetech).

The best veterans were master 30 Ângela Gonçalves (Korpo Activo/Penacova), master 40 Raquel Santos (BTT Seia) and master 50 Ana Oliveira (Korpo Activo/Penacova).

In the electric assistance bicycles, Carlos Brás (Golden Clube Cabanas/Núcleo do Sporting Clube de Portugal) prevailed in the men's sector, while Anabela Antunes (Ansibikers/Ansião Coração de Sicó) was the only woman present in the set of five competitions of the Cup from Portugal.

In class C paracyclists, Hugo Frade (Saertex Portugal/Edaetech) prevailed and in class D, Ivo Pereira (Róódinhas/Master Vantagem) won.

Collectively, BTT Seia won in absolute terms and also in terms of veterans.
