The new public tender for the contracting of the concession to operate Café Calcinha has just been launched by the Loulé City Council and runs until 4 October.
Due to its significance, from the historical, social and tourist point of view, the Municipality wants the Calcinha to start operating again «as soon as possible».
«Since it has been classified, since 2015, as a Monument of Municipal Interest, through this concessionaire the Municipality wants to ensure the valorization of the space as a historical and architectural element, so in the evaluation of the proposals that may be presented, criteria such as creativity, the products to be made available, the cultural program proposed for the space, among others», he says in a note.
The tender runs until the 4th of October and interested parties may consult all the documentation at the Division of Procurement and Public Contracts of the Municipality of Loulé, at Travessa de São Pedro, 8100-647 Loulé, on weekdays, from 9 am to 00 pm and from 13 pm to 00 pm.

Café Calcinha reopened its doors in 2017, after requalification works. Currently, it is part of the Route of Cafés with History, the European Route of Historic Cafés, the Shops with History and the Comércio com História platform.
