National Geographic photographer exhibits in Loulé the work of more than a decade

From the 17th of September to the 22nd of October

Muhammed Muheisen, photographer at National Geographic, and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, will exhibit the photo exhibition “Voices”, from 17 September to 22 October, at the Art Gallery of Convento do Espírito Santo, in Loulé. 

“Voices” is a selection of images captured over more than a decade, documenting the daily lives and challenges that refugees and displaced people face in different parts of the world.

The initiative is part of the Estação Imagem 2021 Coimbra Award, and shows images captured in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Greece, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Jordan.

In addition to a National Geographic photographer, Muhammed Muheisen is also Founder and President of the Dutch non-profit Everyday Refugees Foundation, Global Ambassador for the Jordan Tourism Board, Royal Jordanian Airlines and Canon.

In 2013, he was named the best news agency photographer by Time magazine and since 2001 he has documented the most important social phenomena around the world, from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the United States.

He has been reporting on the refugee crisis in different parts of the world for over a decade.

The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 am to 13:30 pm and from 14:30 pm to 18:00 pm. Admission is free.
