Farense beat Vilafranquense by 2-1, after having been losing, in a game played this Sunday, September 18, at Estádio de São Luís, in Faro.

The team of Faro started on top of the game and gave the opposing defenders and goalkeepers a lot of work from the first minutes.

But, despite the various threats from the Algarve, it was Vilafranquense who took the lead, in the 22nd minute, thanks to a goal scored by Nenê, assisted by Alaba.

Before the break, the Vila Franca team was forced to replace the goalkeeper, due to an injury to Pedro Trigueira.

In the final minutes, the Algarve, who were more balanced for the attack and continued to look for the goal, still got a scare, but Nenê couldn't give the best follow-up to a promising move.

Farense did not manage to materialize the many opportunities they created in the first half, but returning from the dressing room, it didn't take long to score.

In the 50th minute, Cristian Ponde, assisted by Jhon Velásquez, scored the equalizer.

Farense owned the match and the turnaround had to be consummated in the 79th minute, by Rui Costa, who entered in the 2nd half, replacing Lucão. The assistance was provided by Marcos Paulo, who also came off the bench.

Vilafranquense was already in a complicated situation and it got worse, after seeing defender Anthony Correia sent off for a direct red card.

Even so, the visitors did not give up and went looking for the second one, but the ability to score was not added to the great will and the game ended with 2-1 on the scoreboard.

With this result, Farense settled in second place in the league table, when 7 rounds of the II League are played, with 15 points, the same as Vilafranquense, who is now in 3rd, and four less than the leader Moreirense.

On the next round, Farense will go to Lisbon to play with B SAD.
