Praia da Batata, in Lagos, has been closed to bathing since Tuesday, August 9, due to «microbiological values above the reference parameters» that make the water «unsuitable for bathing».
The information was released today by the National Maritime Authority (AMN), which stresses that this ban will remain “until the results of water quality analyzes indicate that the microbiological values are within the reference parameters”.
The red flag was raised shortly after the AMN became aware of the values and the Regional Health Delegate of the Algarve gave guidelines not to let anyone in the water.
