Teatro de Palha, the new Lavrar o Mar project installed in the Vilarinha valley, near Carrapateira (Aljezur), opens this Wednesday, July 6, at 21:30 pm, with the screening of the film «Amor Fati», by the director Claudia Varejao.
After the bureaucratic difficulties that led to the postponement of the opening of this "open-air cinema", built with straw bales according to a design by architect Pedro Quintela, the organization exclaims: «EUREKA!! After numerous challenges and two adjournments, we finally have everything ready to open Teatro de Palha to the public!»
Because of the postponements, the show that would mark the premiere of the space, with Bandalom under the baton of André Duarte aka Junior, will no longer take place at the Teatro de Palha. A source from the organization told the Sul Informação that the show, which will present, with new outfit, some of the original songs created over the six years of Lavrar o Mar's programming, will be rescheduled for another date and another location.
In addition to cinema, concerts, dj sets, a new circus and a dance, Teatro de Palha is also the stage for the exhibition «Essay on Visual Osmosis», which features a selection of 23 large-format photographs by João Mariano. The images portray six years of Lavrar o Mar, in the municipalities of Aljezur and Monchique. Unlike the Theater, which only opens for films and shows from 19:30 pm, the exhibition can be visited throughout the day.
