Exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” brings together photos of young people and seniors

The photographic exhibition “Oficinas no Cabo do Mundo” will show the Fortress of Sagres «through the eyes of two generations» at Mar Shopping, in Loulé, from the 14th to the 27th of June.

This exhibition, made up of 43 photographs of the Fortress of Sagres, captured by young people aged between 16 and 20 and seniors aged up to 85 years, is the result of the project that, with the same name, involved the students of the Tourism Technician Course at the School Professional Cândido Guerreiro – Alte and seniors residing in that parish.

Together, the participants in the initiative «embarked on a journey of discovery, exploration, learning, sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, sharing affections and artistic creation about the Fortress of Sagres», according to the In Loco association. , one of the project partners.

The exhibition has traveled through villages, towns and cities from the coast to the mountains, «installing itself in spaces with the most diverse characteristics, adapting to their architecture and volumetry», providing, «in a very comprehensive way, in terms of territorial and diversity audiences, the opportunity to visit/revisit the Fortress of Sagres».

«The use not only of traditional cultural spaces, almost always non-existent in villages and small towns, but also of spaces suitable for this purpose, transforming them into spaces for reception, creation and dissemination of cultural goods and products, providing populations that, due to geographical or symbolic barriers, they do not have access to traditional cultural spaces, promotes the formation and attraction of (new) audiences, contributes to the democratization of culture and to the development of cultural citizenship», believes In Loco.
