Associação Algarvia invests €3,3 million in new social responses

New unit will have the capacity to support 120 families and will ensure more than 40 jobs

The first stone of the Residential Home and Activities and Training Center for Inclusion (CACI), in Faro, will be placed on the 24th of June, at 11:00 am, in a ceremony promoted by the Algarve Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Disabled Children.

Located at Rua Natália Correia, in Urbanização Nossa Senhora da Saúde, in Lejana, in Faro, this new unit represents an investment of 3,3 million euros.

For Jorge Leitão, president of Associação Algarvia, “the new unit is an example of Associação Algarvia's continued ability to respond to the needs of the community, representing an essential contribution to families in the region. given to your know-how in supporting people with intellectual disabilities, the institution now faces the future with the greatest confidence”.

The Residential Home and Activities and Training Center for Inclusion (CACI) will respond to more than 120 families and ensure more than 40 jobs.

The start of the work is scheduled for July and its conclusion is scheduled for the end of 2023, with the investment being co-financed by community funds from the Cresc Algarve2020 program, with the support of the Municipality of Faro.

To mark the moment of laying the first stone, Rogério Bacalhau, president of the Municipality of Faro, José Apolinário, president of the Executive Committee of the PO CRESC Algarve2020, Bruno Lage, president of the Sé e São Pedro Parish Union, Custódio Moreno, regional director of the IPDJ, representative of the Social Security Institute, and Parreira Afonso, administrator of the Rolear Group.
