UAlg coordinated a training action aimed at the Agents of the National Road Route 2

Action took place on the 11th and 12th of May

The University of Algarve (UAlg) held a training action on the 11th and 12th of May for the Agents of the National Route 2 Route. 

The initiative took place within the scope of the Best Med project (Interreg Med Programme), in which the University of Algarve has been a partner since 2019, in partnership with the Associação dos Municípios da Estrada Nacional 2 and Biosphere.

The training action was coordinated by Cláudia Ribeiro de Almeida, professor at the Escola Superior de Gestão, Hotelaria e Turismo (ESGHT), and promoted by the trainer Rui Mendonça-Pedro, from the Research Center in Tourism, Sustainability and Welfare (CinTurs) of the UAlg, being addressed to the Agents of the Route of the National Road 2, with the participation of 118 trainees, coming from 29 municipalities.

The action addressed the following topics: the concept of cultural routes as innovative tourist products, services associated with cultural routes and the role of local communities and tourist typologies and management of tourist flows.
