Reguengos de Monsaraz analyzes the creation of a transport network with electric vehicles

Reguengos de Monsaraz is part of the Circular Cities National Initiative through the RURBAN Link application

The Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz will analyze the creation of a public transport network in the city with electric vehicles. 

The study takes place within the scope of RURBAN Link – Network of Circular Connections between Urban and Rural Areas.

Through this collaborative project, Reguengos de Monsaraz «intends to focus its efforts on enhancing the municipality's rural environment, also executing the Biodiversity and Rural Development Safeguard Plan, which will make it possible to make local and external investors and producers aware of the reality of the territory and all its added value in an economic sustainability based on the green circular economy", says the City Council in a statement, which, with this measure, wants to "promote the enhancement of rural territory, but also the circular economy".

The study takes place within the scope of RURBAN Link – Network of Circular Connections between Urban and Rural Areas, of which Reguengos is a part, in the area of ​​urban-rural relations and has as partners the municipalities of Fundão, Guimarães, Bragança, Penela, Ribeira Grande and Câmara de Lobos, together with Lisboa E-Nova – Lisbon Energy and Environment Agency.

After the first phase, which started in the summer of 2021, the action planning phase now begins, focusing on the importance of working locally and in a network.
