Festival Música Sacra returns in July to promote religious heritage in Lagoa

Ideias do Levante event goes to 2nd edition

The Festival of Sacred Music of Lagoa returns for its second edition and will take this art to different churches in the county, on the 9th, 23rd and 30th of July.

This event by the cultural association Ideias do Levante, in partnership with the Municipality of Lagoa, aims to «promote the religious artistic heritage of the municipality of Lagoa, decentralize concert venues throughout the municipality and make known/promote religious spaces, artists, instruments and works of Portuguese and foreign composers», according to the festival organizers.

«This second edition will bring together several projects around sacred music, promoting an exchange between institutions, artists/musicians and the public, which will offer an interesting dynamic and will, for sure, value, and make known, people, space and places », believes Roberto Estorninho, president of Ideias do Levante's board of directors.

All concerts take place on Saturdays, at 18:00, and are free of charge, although limited to the capacity of each space. Reservations must be made online, following this link.
