The journalistic highlights of Sul Informação are now too Google news highlights. O Sul Informação is one of about 40 Portuguese publications that have already signed an agreement with the technological multinational, so that, in the Google News Showcase, its main contents, selected by journalists, are made available.
This new Google feature, launched in October 2020, became available in Portugal in November last year.
“The Google News Showcase is part of our global investment in the news industry and is our effort to support news publishers of all sizes, and also the news ecosystem in Portugal», considers Google.
The agreement established between Google and the publications allows the American company to make content selected by journalists from each publication available, through panels, on Google News and Google Discover.
With regard to the Sul Informação, we are preparing, daily, two panels with our main news highlights, one in the morning and one in the evening.
This partnership with Google is part of our growth and consolidation strategy as a leading newspaper in the South of Portugal.
