Baja de Loulé is going to the dirt roads of the municipalities of Loulé, Tavira and Alcoutim, this weekend, the 28th and 29th of May.
The Algarve round of the national off-road calendars will have 143 teams at the start, divided between cars, motorcycles, SSV and quads.
The event starts with the 5,4 kilometer prologue, outlined around the Algarve Stadium, which will house the Operational Center and the Assistance Park for vehicles in competition.
With a selective sector to repeat for the two days of competition, making a total of more than 300 kilometers against the timer, competitors will also pass through a 40 kilometer section that has not been used for years.
In automobiles, the duo João Ferreira and David Monteiro will try to achieve their fourth consecutive victory in the championship, with the opposition of names such as the reigning champion Tiago Reis or previous winners of the race such as João Ramos, Alejandro Martins or Alexandre Ré. It will also be interesting to follow the fight for the T2 and T8 categories.
On motorcycles, the multi-champion António Maio will try to secure the conquest of the CNTT2022, having as main opponents Mário Patrão, Martim Ventura, Micael Simão or Gustavo Gaudêncio.
In the SSV, the highlight is the clash between the Can-Am present, with names like João Monteiro, Gonçalo Guerreiro or Roberto Borrego trying to dethrone Nuno Fontes as the title winner.
In quads, João Vale Silva has the current leadership of the championship, being the one that everyone will try to face.
Baja de Loulé is an organization of the Clube Automóvel do Algarve, within the scope of the competitions of the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation and the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation, with the support of the municipalities of Loulé, Tavira and Alcoutim and active collaboration of the Parish Councils. from Salir, Ameixial, Martim Longo and Cachopo and also from partner Medronhito do Caldeirão.
