Kayak Clube Castores do Arade wins six podiums in the National Championship

The club also won four podiums in the Portuguese Crew Cup

Kayak Clube Castores do Arade (KCCA), from Lagoa, won six podiums in the National Long-distance Championship, which took place in Mirandela on the 26th and 27th of March, and four podiums in the Portuguese Crew Cup, which took place in North of the Country the following weekend, on the 2nd and 3rd of April. 

One gold, two silver and three bronze medals were the six grand prizes collected by Kayak Clube Castores do Arade in the National Championship, which had the participation of around 1000 athletes from all over the country. The Algarve club was represented in this competition by 38 athletes aged between 10 and 55.

The following weekend, April 2nd and 3rd, the KCCA headed to Melres (Gondomar) to participate in the Portuguese Crew Cup. In this competition the team was represented by 25 athletes who competed in K2 and K4 in the children's, cadets, juniors, seniors and veterans levels.

In the National Fund Championship - where the KCCA achieved 9th place in 49 clubs and in the Veterans category the 5th place in 33 clubs - on the podium was Ana Bebiano (first place in K1 Master A), Ianis Bebiano (second place in K1 Inf B), Olefirenko O., (second place in C1 Master A), Ruben Luís (third place in K1 Cadet), Dinis Carrasco (third place in K1 Infantil A) and Leonor Matos (third place in K1 Infantil A).

In the Crews Cup – where KCCA was the 7th club in 33 clubs that participated – Emanuel Silva/David Varela (first place in K2 Senior), Iara Bebiano/Inês Carapinha/Inês Luís/Iris Rietkerk (first place in K4 Junior Female, Leonor Matos/Clélia Santos/Lara carapinha/Júlia Luís (third place in K4 Children's Female and Diogo Araújo/Miguel Costa/Bernardo Verdades/Tomás Vasconcelos (third place in K4 Junior).

Kayak Clube Castores do Arade and Clube de Canoagem da Amora are the only clubs in the South to earn a place in the National Top 10.
