VRSA Library organizes the inter-municipal phase of the National Reading Contest

The Algarve intermunicipal phase of the National Reading Contest will take place on the 21st and 26th of April, in online format, and will be organized by the Vicente Campinas Municipal Library, from Vila Real de Santo António

The written tests are scheduled for tomorrow, at 12:00, and the oral tests will take place on the 26th of April, at 14:00.

In the end, two students will be selected for each level of education, to participate in the Final Phase of the competition.

«Participation in the Intermunicipal Phase of the CNL is open to all students, of all levels of education, verified by the Municipal Libraries belonging to the Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve and registered in the National Reading Plan Information System», according to the VRSA Chamber. .

The competitors will be divided into four categories, corresponding to the different cycles: 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles and secondary education.

«The written test will be carried out, simultaneously, by the four categories, through the Google Forms platform, and has an eliminatory character. In the event of a tie, the time taken to complete the test will be taken into account. If the tie remains, the development question will be evaluated», explains the municipality.

The five competitors of each level of education who obtain the best classification will be selected for the next phase.

The «stage tests» will be held through the Zoom platform and will start at 14:30 pm on the 26th. The test will be broadcast live through the page Facebook of the Municipality of Vila Real de Santo António.

Finalist students will be subject to an expressive reading test (each competitor will read aloud one of the texts, chosen from among those proposed for their level of education) and an oral argumentation test (answer to an open question , placed by the jury on a reading selected by the competitor, with a maximum duration of 2 minutes).

The two competitors of each level of education with the highest scores in the stage test will be selected for the Final Phase of the National Reading Contest.
