Young playful fisherman rescued on a cliff next to the Fort of Santo António de Belixe

21-year-old felt unwell while fishing on a cliff

A young 21-year-old fisherman, who felt sick while fishing on a cliff, next to the Santo António de Belixe Fort, in Sagres, was rescued this Sunday morning, February 13th. 

According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the man “was in a place of difficult access, in a conscious state, having been stabilized and rescued by the Volunteer Firefighters of Vila do Bispo to the boat at the Sagres Lifeguard Station”

The victim was then transported by the elements of the Lifeguard Station to the port of Baleeira, “where members of INEM and the Immediate Life Support (SIV) of Lagos were waiting to assist the victim”.

The victim was then "transported to a hospital".

The alert was received at 10:30 am informing that “a man had felt unwell in an area of ​​cliffs”.

The event had elements of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos and the Lifeguard Station of Sagres and a wide angle team of the Volunteer Firefighters of Vila do Bispo.
