Strike of tax workers had 80% adhesion in Algarve

Most of the Algarve tax offices were closed

The tax workers' strike had this Thursday, December 2nd, an adhesion that «neared 80%», in the Algarve, reveals the Tax Workers' Union (STI).

Thus, the finance offices of Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Lagos, Portimão, Lagoa, Silves, Albufeira, Quarteira, were closed. Faro, São Brás de Alportel, Olhão, Tavira, Vila Real de Santo António.

Loulé, Alcoutim, Monchique and Castro Marim operated at less than 30%. at the airport of Faro, AT customs workers are on minimal services.

Em Faro, the members of the Union district, in tune with the national strike that has been going on since yesterday and until next Sunday, were concentrated with the Finance Directorate of this city. There will be a new concentration of workers next Sunday, between 10 am and 12 pm, at the airport of Faro.

Until 13 pm today, the 2nd, the strike by the Tax Workers' Union led to the closure of more than 70% of the Finance and Customs services across the country.

The STI represents all employees of the Tax and Customs Authority (AT). The strike, lasting a total of five days, began yesterday, the holiday of December 1st, with workers from the customs services. Today, it was dropped to all TA workers, as well as tomorrow.

Until next Sunday, the workers are in protest "against the increasing degradation of the functioning of the AT, the deficient management of Human Resources and the robotization of inspection functions".

«The regulation of the new regime of Special Careers of the Tax and Customs Authority, the opening of the competition for the transition of remaining careers, the opening of all competitive procedures announced in 2019, the conclusion of competitions and mobility pending for more than two years and the reinforcement of the staff of special careers with the opening of external examinations» are the motto for the strike called by the Tax Workers Union, which brings together more than eight thousand AT workers.
