The municipal company AmbiOlhão cleared and cleaned water lines, in an investment of around 70 euros, announced this Wednesday, December 15, the municipality of Olhão.
"These works are of particular importance, especially at this time of year, as they play an important role in preventing floods and in the environmental quality of these watercourses, which are responsible for the drainage of rainwater", says the Chamber of Olhão.
A total extension of 5.604 meters was carried out throughout the municipality, with emphasis on the water line that extends from the Municipal Pavilion to the railway line, which is located in the Turolhão urbanization, in Brejo, in the stretch that extends from Estrada Nacional 125 to Estrada de Brancanes, in the Quinta das Âncoras urbanization, on the Caminho dos Quitérios; in the water line that extends from the Polisportivo de Pechão to the Lavadouros area and in Ribeiro do Tronco, in Moncarapacho.
These works also aimed at «the removal of urban solid waste, construction and demolition waste, household appliances, monos, tires, among others, and the selective removal of plant material that put structures such as bridges, jetties and weirs at risk».
